JUST TO THROW IN SOMETHING NORMAL [387]

“That they, without us, should not be made perfect”. And “For the dead in Christ will rise first”. Scripture makes it pretty plain that the place of those awaiting the resurrection is in the grave. It is called “sleep”. Contrary to common belief about going to heaven, which is a nice thought, the reality according to scripture is not that at all. Yes Jesus IS the resurrection, and all who participate in Him, in His resurrection, are saved by demonstration of that reality in THIS life, but they still physically die and go into the ground. Waiting for either the second resurrection (the confirmation of life) or the second death (the confirmation of death). Both of which occur when the new creation is unveiled at the return of Christ.

  1. Lord Jesus as the Resurrection and the assurance of immortality for the saints is great hope for the believer.

I believe also that God is bringing His Kingdom down to earth to establish His Will as He purposes in Heaven (we can take a tip from Eden).
