TO ADMIT TO LOVE IS TO ADMIT TO PAIN [400]

To admit to love, is to admit to pain, is to admit to vulnerability. No self respecting man wants to be seen as vulnerable to pain because of love. The world teaches us to be defensive, to keep up our guard against being hurt, we toughen up, we are hardened, we insulate ourselves against sensitivity, softness, emotion and love.

It is no accident that scripture says …I will turn the hearts of the fathers back to the sons. This suggests that sensitivity has been reintroduced.

And why did this hardening come about? Because of the corruptive lie, the deception; that we were deceived at a primary level that then removed us from the sensitivity that God is. That destroyed trust in goodness and its relevance.

And yet, when sin has done its thing and we are forced to admit that it is a lonely road that is walked alone, and pain and darkness of soul has expressed itself in and through us:  Then we are perhaps ready to hear the gospel.
