“Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God”. Only Spirit can inherit the kingdom of God, and when it does so, it becomes a new body. Those who are alive when Jesus comes will be changed “in the twinkling of an eye”. Those who have already died, who have already been deprived of their earthly body, it having decayed and returned to dust, and we with it, will be provided with the new spiritual body that has been stored up for them in heaven.
By dying, He has provided you with separation from your own death, He has legally placed you on the correct side of “the great gulf”.
Jesus has enabled the separation of “us”, that whom we are, our identity, our “spirit”? from that which is our body of flesh. If we have not been separated from it we are said to be “in the flesh” (Rom.8-9), but if we have been separated from it, we are said to be “in the Spirit”.
Separation between flesh and spirit occurs when we believe in Jesus and our consciousness is raised from death to life. When we take part in “The first resurrection”. (Jesus).
You are either dead in the flesh, or alive in the Spirit. You are alive in the Spirit when the Spirit of God dwells in you. You are in the death of the flesh, “in the flesh” if you do not have the Spirit of Christ.
